PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 15, 2004

Straight from a Texas grandma and her Nashville song-writing friends comes "There's a Moose on the Loose," a colorfully illustrated children's book of country critters, including a moose, a mouse, a lion and a cat in a frilly hat. Accompanying the book is a CD of eight original children's songs.

"'The Moose' and her furry friends jump off the page with personality," said Chris Sommer, radio personality for 99.5 FM The Wolf in Dallas and father of a 3-year-old. "It has delightful illustrations and a contagiously rhythmic style of storytelling. My 3-year-old loves to hear the story over and over."

"There's a Moose on the Loose" began as lyrics for a children's song but then turned into a story for my grandkids to enjoy," said "Grammy" Jill Larsen, author of the book. "We took the idea and created a fun, silly story with adorable illustrations and enchanting songs to captivate the imagination."

The 30-page hardcover title is a full-color, rhyming romp through a forest with happy-go-lucky critters. The full-page illustrations have characters grinning their way through the frolic and fun of just being friends and having a party.

"The book and CD are just plain fun. They'll make you smile," Larsen said, "whether you're 2, 22 or 102." The collection of all original songs includes "Moose on the Loose Story," "Moose on the Loose Song," "Pretty Rainbow," "Kitty & Puppy," "Leo the Lion," "Flowers," "My Teddy Bear" and "Never Gonna Stop Lovin' You."

This is the first book for author Jill Harrington Larsen, a Dallas paralegal and country songwriter from Plano, Texas. She teamed with illustrator Shelley Brant Levi and performer Allie Jo Thomas to create the musical "moose on the loose" in story, illustration and song. The book and eight-song CD, just published and available immediately online and in select bookstores nationwide, costs $16.99. A coloring book is also available.

All songs are originally authored by Larsen, Thomas and their "family" of songwriters and musicians who write and record for Larsen's newly founded Chase West Productions in Plano. The songs were recorded at Jay's Place Studio on Music Row in Nashville.

Chase West Productions serves as book publisher and recording label for the book and CD, plus a growing collection labeled "Kids, Critters and Country." This collection includes 3 CDs, "Allie's Place," "Playin' Outside," and "Family Country Christmas."

The Kids Critters and Country Collection, which will include a new children's book and CD planned for the 2004 holiday season, may be found at select bookstores and gift shops nationwide, as well as at www.kidscrittersandcountry.com and www.amazon.com.
