Despite advances in the treatment of migraine, the majority of sufferers (57 percent) continue to self-medicate with over-the-counter (OTC) pain relievers, which, according to medical guidelines, are not the most effective treatment choice for many patients with moderate to severe migraine pain. Now, according to a study published this month in the journal Headache, patients not finding relief with Excedrin-Migraine(R), a commonly used OTC treatment, have an effective option.
