Sourcing Expo -- Indian Apparel
WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 24, 2004
Thomas G. Travis, Managing Partner at Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A. (ST&R) will open the Sourcing Expo -- Indian Apparel (www.IndianApparelExpo.com) June 4-5 in Dallas and June 9-10 in New York City with remarks on trading textiles and apparel in a quota-free world. This trade mission, the first single-country sourcing show of its size in the United States, is jointly organized by the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) of India, promoter of Indian textile and apparel exports, and Sandler, Travis and Rosenberg, P.A. (ST&R), the leader in international trade advisory services. Scheduled speakers include Rodney Birkins, Vice President of JC Penney Purchasing Corporation; Jerry Cook, Vice President for International Trade, Sara Lee Branded Apparel; Wendy Wieland Martin, Director of Trade and Customs Services, Kellwood Company; and Ted Sattler, Group Executive Vice President of Foreign Operations for Philips-Van Heusen Corporation.
"We know that retail buyers have a lot of questions about trading in a post-quota world," said Tom Travis. "So we've assembled a panel of market leaders to share their experience on how to maximize new business opportunities in a changing global economy." The Sourcing Expo -- Indian Apparel offers a unique opportunity to learn the new rules and then immediately meet the partners to work with in the new framework of trade."
ST&R will award its 2005 IBERC Diagnostic Program, a $15,000 value, to one attendee at each show. The prize includes analysis of the winning company's product sourcing matrix, and strategic recommendations on crafting a new forward-looking sourcing strategy. This program, developed by The IBERC Group, a division of ST&R, assists apparel companies to understand changes they will encounter with the removal of quotas in 2005.
