PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 26, 2004
QuietTiger Inc. (OTCBB:QTIG, QTIB.BE), an international marketer of digital content security and enhancement products for the music and entertainment industry, announced today that it has signed separate licensing agreements to use MediaMax Music Management System with Tennessee-based CD replicator, Music City Optical Media (MCOMINC) and independent record label Six Degrees Records based in San Francisco. QuietTiger Inc. has the world-wide exclusive sales and marketing rights to represent SunnComm Technologies' MediaMax product line.
SunnComm's MediaMax suite of products delivers security for digital audio along with an enhanced consumer experience providing additional bonus content and value-added features available in a user-friendly multi-media session that is mastered on the audio CD and accessible using a personal computer. Bonus features include artist-related promotions, videos, song lyrics, artist bio page, photo gallery, web links and tune sharing capability through the MusicMail(TM) functionality.
The MusicMail technology platform allows consumers to share music with friends by providing the recipient with a song that can be downloaded and listened to for a limited number of days, a limited number of plays or until a specific expiration date arrives. This allows consumers to share music with friends in the spirit of sharing as it was intended while respecting the copyrights of the artists by sending legal and licensed music tracks instead of unauthorized copies.
QuietTiger's president, Bill Whitmore says, "We're really excited about adding Music City Optical Media and Six Degrees Records to our growing roster of quality companies utilizing SunnComm's MediaMax technology. Our goal is to make the MediaMax CDs the most popular copy management and enhancement technology in the world. We will continue to build our customer base one company at a time and we are looking forward to working with Music City and the team at Six Degrees records."
MCOMINC is a full-service facility specializing in the manufacturing and packaging of compact discs, CD-ROMs and DVDs and, by the signing of this agreement, establishes itself as an authorized service provider for the replication and manufacture of MediaMax M4(TM) enhanced CDs.
MCOMINC has already successfully completed replication of its first MediaMax enhanced CD project for Concord Records, an independent label based in California and is preparing to include MediaMax on an additional project with another independent label.
Six Degrees Records joins the growing line up of major and independent labels implementing SunnComm's copy management and enhancement technology on their artists' CDs. The first project is currently in production. "We have been searching for an elegant solution to protecting our intellectual property; SunnComm is the answer." states Bob Appel, Vice President A&R and Creative Services for Six Degrees Records.
SunnComm's MediaMax offers the most effective solution available for dealing with the issue of "casual CD piracy" within the music industry. The MediaMax solution helps protect the rights of artists, composers, publishers and labels, and provide consumers with an enhanced audio and visual experience. MediaMax provides complete cross-platform playability and compatibility with existing consumer electronic devices including all CD and DVD players and car stereos.
MediaMax M4 is a collection of patent pending technologies that provides copy control for CDs, while simultaneously enhancing and expanding the consumer's entertainment experience. MediaMax is tightly integrated with Microsoft's (NASDAQ: MSFT) Windows Media Platform and the Digital Rights Management capabilities associated with the latest Windows Media Platforms. SunnComm licenses and uses Windows Media Audio DRM capabilities from Microsoft as the security feature for these multi-media files.
