ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 10, 2004
Verio delivers hosting and network services for DLI
e-learning applications
Verio, a subsidiary of NTT Communications and a leading global IP solutions provider, announced it will provide hosting and network services to Distance Learning Inc. (DLI), as the company delivers e-learning solutions for corporations, educational institutions and government agencies worldwide.
New York-based Distance Learning develops and delivers tools that enable these organizations to expand their critical knowledge management capabilities. With DLI's customized online digital e-learning solutions, organizations can more efficiently train employees in remote office locations, and schools can easily develop, post and manage online classes and curricula for their student base. These solutions can be delivered over the Internet, or via CD or wireless devices, such as personal digital assistants (PDAs).
The secure, high-speed bandwidth connectivity of the NTT/VERIO Global IP Network accommodates DLI's diverse delivery process, enabling easier management of the extensive user volume to their site and affiliate sites which they host. "With the continued growth and business applications of distance learning solutions, we expect to see a steady increase in the extent that companies and organizations are integrating e-learning in the coming years," said Stephen Cervieri, director of sales and marketing for DLI. "The ability to scale our infrastructure, service and network requirements to accommodate this business growth and optimize our online channel for sales and distribution is a key consideration for us."
DLI's Learning Management System allows for either blended learning or pure e-learning with on-demand access to training material. DLI provides services to leading companies such as Merck & Co., Citigroup, McGraw-Hill and Berlitz.
"We're pleased that the NTT/VERIO solution more than meets all the key requirements for our business," said Seth Bridge, DLI director of information technology. "These requirements included partnering with a leading provider with financial stability and longevity, as well as strong geographical presence and accessibility. Finally, the quality of the company's network and facilities was critical, particularly given the nature of our business. Verio's expertise and track record will also serve us well if we need to expand our solutions in the future."
"The possibilities for e-learning applications continue to multiply in terms of the breadth, depth and capabilities of the services delivered and the type of organizations they can serve," said Harold Miltsch, vice president of marketing, Verio. "As DLI continues to rely on the NTT/VERIO infrastructure and network services to take advantage of this expansion, we look forward to supporting their business needs during this growth."
