EUGENE, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 13, 2004
TrafficLeader, a leading provider of search engine marketing services and a subsidiary of Marchex, Inc. (Nasdaq:MCHX), today announced two agreements with BellSouth to expand the exposure of BellSouth's RealPages.com advertisers in Internet search results, using TrafficLeader's technology and distribution platform.
TrafficLeader will support BellSouth's Real Search Engine Solutions(SM), an innovative product designed to help local businesses increase their Web presence. When potential buyers surf the Web for a product or service, Real Search Engine Solutions helps ensure BellSouth advertisers' Web sites will show up in Internet search results.
Under the agreement, TrafficLeader will deliver a hosted software package which allows BellSouth to easily enter and manage its advertiser data for paid inclusion and paid listings campaigns. TrafficLeader will create and manage the necessary paid inclusion feeds for the advertisers, ensuring that they are delivered into many of the Internet's leading search engines and traffic providers. TrafficLeader's paid inclusion programs enable merchant customers to have their product- or service-based Web sites appear in search results, based on relevance to specific search queries.
Additionally, TrafficLeader will provide tools for BellSouth to manage paid listings campaigns for its advertisers on the Internet's leading pay-per-click (PPC) search engines. While paid inclusion programs are based solely on relevance, PPC campaigns rank search results based on a specific price paid for placement on specific key words.
Under the second agreement announced today, TrafficLeader will collaborate with BellSouth's Intelligent Media Ventures to provide search engine optimization (SEO) services for BellSouth's RealPages.com, the company's Internet Yellow Pages. This agreement is focused on increasing the visibility and distribution of BellSouth's advertisers.
"These agreements are unique in providing the flexibility for BellSouth to offer its RealPages.com advertisers a combination of search engine marketing services, whether that is via paid search inclusion or pay-per-click programs," said Jerry Wiant, TrafficLeader CEO. "This will enable BellSouth to manage both their advertisers' campaigns and the associated customer service, and TrafficLeader will provide the technology infrastructure, software and feed creation capability."
