Applebee's Launches New Weight Watchers Menu in 1,600 Restaurants Nationwide
The world's largest casual dining restaurant concept, Applebee's International Inc. (Nasdaq:APPB), today announced that its new Weight Watchers International Inc. (NYSE:WTW) menu of 10 selections is now available in each of its nearly 1,600 restaurants nationwide. The Weight Watchers items include appetizers, entrees and desserts. Each selection lists calories, fat and fiber grams, and Weight Watchers POINTS(R) values.

Keeping American Buildings and Drinking Water Safe
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Homeland Security Research Center, the U.S. Army Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center (ECBC) and the STERIS Corporation are developing the next phase of tools designed to detect and remove chemical and biological agents from the nation's drinking water supply and buildings. Two projects were demonstrated on May 14 in a briefing for members of Congress.

A new report, DVR Love: A Survey of Digital Video Recorder Users, finds that consumer satisfaction with the TV viewing experience increased dramatically with the acquisition of a DVR. While 7 percent of survey respondents said they were extremely satisfied before acquiring their DVR, that percentage increased to an overwhelming 72 percent after (see figure).
