Platform to focus on reducing cost and risk of regulatory
compliance; will be based upon award-winning Stellent Universal
Content Management framework
Stellent, Inc. (Nasdaq:STEL), a global provider of content management solutions, announced today it has entered into a strategic agreement with Protiviti Inc., a leading internal audit and business and technology risk consulting firm, to create a next-generation, content management-based compliance platform.
Under the agreement, Stellent will deliver and market compliance solutions based on the Stellent(R) Universal Content Management system and supported by Protiviti subject matter expertise. These solutions, to be co-marketed by Protiviti, will offer capabilities such as audit trails; document management; project management and reporting; personalized interfaces; automated process documentation collection and process testing; secure, Web-based access by internal and external users; and records management.
"Many organizations store regulatory compliance-related content in separate repositories and are seeking ways to tie this information together through a single, Web-based architecture," said Lane Leskela, vice president and research director for Gartner, Inc. "Software vendors who support a broad range of compliance information with a common technology platform are best equipped to meet this growing need, particularly when records management and workflow functionalities are included in the product suite. Adding subject matter expertise to enhance application design and development will strengthen these offerings."
"We are pleased to enter into this strategic relationship with Stellent to develop next-generation compliance solutions," said Michael O'Donnell, managing director for Protiviti and head of the firm's technology risk consulting practice. "Companies are facing sweeping changes in corporate governance requirements. For instance, efforts to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act have resulted in significant costs to an organization for people, processes and technology. Clients tell us they need new technologies and processes to support future compliance activities. We look forward to helping Stellent develop new applications that will further enhance companies' ability to manage compliance processes in a cost-effective manner."
"This alliance brings together two industry leaders that both have extremely high levels of customer satisfaction," said Dan Ryan, executive vice president of marketing and business development for Stellent. "By joining Stellent's best-of-breed software products with Protiviti's unparalleled subject matter expertise, thought leadership and consulting services, we will provide companies with the most effective and efficient solutions for meeting multiple compliance mandates, from Sarbanes-Oxley and FDA regulations to JCAHO, HIPAA and ISO 9001."
