PowerByHand Names Tony Philipp Senior Vice President, International; Global Business Veteran Will Drive Mobile Content Leader's International Strategy, Operations and Expansion

PowerByHand, the premier provider of mobile content delivery solutions, today announced the appointment of Tony Philipp as senior vice president, International. Having launched numerous successful businesses in Europe, including Lycos Bertelesmann and European Magellan, Philipp brings more than 15 years of international sales, marketing and business development experience with telecommunications and technology companies. At PowerByHand, he will lead the company's international strategy with responsibility for international operations and expansion.

Most recently, Philipp led the global business development initiatives of Vivisimo, a leading provider of content clustering and Internet search technology. In 1996 Philipp founded Lycos Europe, and he led the company as chief operating officer, generating over $10MM in revenue in 18 months. Philipp formed the joint venture with Bertelesman and grew Lycos Bertelsmann to become the largest Pan European Internet technology company, which led to a $5 Billion IPO. Prior to joining Lycos, Mr. Philipp established the European Magellan, which was bought by Excite in 1996. He also spent six years with AT&T, building the telecommunication company's European Global Account Management Program. Throughout his career he has developed strategic partnerships with numerous industry leading companies including Overture/Yahoo, MSN, Looksmart, Ebay, Infospace, AOL, Findwhat, Bertelsmann, Grolier and others.

Philipp currently serves as an advisor to Mobileway, helping drive its global expansion, and is a member of the Independent Directors Program of 3i plc, the largest venture firm in Europe. Philipp holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Clemson University, a Master of International Business (MBA) from the University of South Carolina and was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Cologne (Germany).
