National Instruments New Low-Cost Analog Output Modules Deliver Ease of Use, Real-Time Control

National Instruments (Nasdaq:NATI) today announced two new low-cost PXI modules that use the advanced features of NI-DAQmx 7.2 to deliver high-performance analog output (AO) for measurement and control systems.

Starting at just $34 per channel, the NI PXI-6722 and the NI PXI-6723 AO modules work with NI-DAQmx 7.2, the newest version of National Instruments measurement services software, to deliver high-performance AO features such as waveform analog output, simultaneous multichannel updates and high-speed, single-point output.

Both the NI PXI-6722, offering eight AO channels, and the NI PXI-6723, offering 32 AO channels, use NI-DAQmx to deliver deterministic execution of multichannel control algorithms. In addition, these modules reach speeds of up to 21 kHz while running eight parallel PID loops. Because AO modules are often used with other I/O such as analog input, vision or digital I/O, NI-DAQmx offers an easy-to-use interface for controlling the PXI trigger bus for multidevice synchronization.

Engineers using the NI PXI-672x family also can take advantage of other ease-of-use features in NI-DAQmx 7.2 such as DAQ Assistant, which provides a step-by-step dialog guide for configuring, testing and programming AO tasks. DAQ Assistant automatically generates code for low-level customization, making it easier and faster for engineers to develop AO applications with configuration-based Express VIs in LabVIEW.

The NI PXI-672x family is ideal for high-performance, multichannel control applications including signal simulation, real-time control and low-speed arbitrary waveform generation.
