Freescale MCF548x and MCF547x Processors

Green Hills Software Inc., the market leader in royalty-free real-time operating systems (RTOS), today announced INTEGRITY RTOS support for the Freescale ColdFire MCF548x and MCF547x processor families. For the first time, software developers can develop and deploy process control, factory automation and other networked industrial setting products using an RTOS with guaranteed reliability on a Freescale ColdFire processor.

The INTEGRITY RTOS is part of a complete end-to-end solution created and sold by Green Hills Software comprised of a royalty-free, memory-protected RTOS integrated with the industry-leading MULTI Integrated Development Environment (IDE), optimizing C/C compilers and hardware debug probes.

The Freescale MCF548x and MCF547x processors are based on the powerful ColdFire V4e core with multiple connectivity features including dual Ethernet, CAN, USB, PCI and other serial interfaces. In addition, these devices offer a hardware encryption accelerator that enables fast and secure network communication.

INTEGRITY features full memory and application protection and guaranteed resource availability for critical tasks to prevent errant or malicious code from corrupting user and kernel objects.
