"Job seekers' response to 'Networking Nights' has been tremendous," said Stephanie Horton, manager, advertising promotion, The New York Times. "They have helped dozens of people secure new jobs and have provided thousands more with useful career information. Given its success in New York during the last two years, we felt it was a good time to extend 'Networking Nights' to other national markets as job recruitment picks up. We believe recruiters see 'Networking Nights' as an effective resource to identify quality talent in today's marketplace."
"Starbucks Coffee is proud to be part of the success of 'Networking Nights' and to provide our venues as meeting places for the communities we serve," said Daniel Lewis, Starbucks Coffee regional spokesperson.
"Networking Nights" debuted in 2002 as a community service to help New Yorkers find jobs locally and will once again be presented in conjunction with Starbucks Coffee, the exclusive venue for all "Networking Nights" sessions.
To increase awareness of "Networking Nights" among job seekers, The New York Times Job Market and Starbucks Coffee will support the program with an integrated marketing campaign that will include ads in The New York Times, radio spots on Metro Traffic during morning and evening drive times and in-store signage at participating Starbucks Coffee locations. Online marketing will include promotion on The Times and Starbucks Web sites and E-mail marketing to NYTimes.com opt-in subscribers.
