Chapel Hills Tech Center Site to Offer Full-Time and Working Adult Students Options, Flexibility in Business & Technology Degree Programs

DeVry University--one of Colorado and North America's leading career-focused universities for business, technology and management education--announced today that it will break ground this summer on a new Colorado Springs facility in the Chapel Hills Technological Center in northern Colorado Springs.

Located at 1175 Kelly Johnson Blvd., the new DeVry University Center/Colorado Springs will sit on four acres near the southern entrance to the United States Air Force Academy, close to the intersection of North Academy Blvd. and the I-25 freeways. The 17,500-square foot center will feature 13 classrooms, two lecture (computer) labs, and an academic support center.

DeVry University provides career-oriented undergraduate programs in business, technology and management to high school graduates and working adults as well as graduate programs through its Keller Graduate School of Management. The university features master's, bachelor's and associate degree programs in some of today's top emerging career fields.

The construction of the new center in Colorado Springs, along with the opening of DeVry University's Westminster campus last year in north Denver, places DeVry at the forefront of technology and business-focused higher education in Colorado.

Groundbreaking is scheduled for July, with classes targeted to begin mid-2005. The center will replace DeVry's current facility at 225 South Union Blvd. Students currently enrolled at South Union will transfer to the new Kelly Johnson Blvd. location upon completion.

"Northern Colorado Springs is the ideal location for our new DeVry University Center because, like DeVry, the area continues to grow and offer tremendous opportunities," said Timothy Campagna, president of DeVry University/Colorado. "We are very excited about this new center. It will allow DeVry to continue offering a high-quality educational experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels to residents in the greater Colorado Springs region."

DeVry/Colorado Springs' bachelor of science degree programs include business administration, computer information systems and technical management, while associate degree programs are offered in computer information systems, electronics and computer technology, and network systems administration.

Seven practitioner-oriented master's degree programs are offered through the university's Keller Graduate School of Management in business administration, project management, network and communications management, human resource management, information systems management, public administration, and accounting and financial management.

"The new DeVry University Center should be a welcome addition for students seeking greater access to high-quality and flexible degree programs in the Colorado Springs area," said Campagna. "With a year-round academic calendar, DeVry's students can complete their programs quicker than at more traditional institutions, reaching their career goals faster."
