Commercial Capital Bancorp, Inc. Board of Directors Authorizes Stock Repurchase Plan

Commercial Capital Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company"), (NASDAQ:CCBI), announced today that its Board of Directors has authorized the repurchase of up to 2.5% of the Company's proforma outstanding shares of common stock, giving effect to the acquisition of Hawthorne Financial Corporation, not to exceed $20 million in value. The purchases may be made from time to time either in the open market or through privately negotiated purchases. The shares repurchased by the Company under the stock repurchase program are to be held as treasury shares.
Stephen H. Gordon, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer stated, "This decision reflects the confidence of management in the Company's future growth and performance, and our commitment to increasing shareholder value. The purchases will be made at the discretion of management based on its assessment of market conditions, and are anticipated to be immediately accretive to earnings per share."
The Company, headquartered in Irvine, CA, is a multifaceted financial services company which provides financial services to meet the needs of its client base, which includes income-property real estate investors, middle market commercial businesses, and high net-worth individuals, families and professionals. The Company was the 4th largest multi-family lender in California during the 12 months ended March 31, 2004 (source: Dataquick Information Systems) and the Bank was the fastest growing savings institution in California, based on percentage growth in total assets over the 36 months ended December 31, 2003 (source: www.fdic.gov). The acquisition has received all necessary shareholder and regulatory approvals and is expected to close on June 4, 2004.
