Pace Micro Technology, the world's largest dedicated developer of digital set-top technology, and Gemstar-TV Guide International, Inc., the leading provider of television information and guidance, announced they have integrated TV Guide Interactive, digital cable's most widely-deployed IPG, onto Pace's DC755HD high-definition cable set-top. The DC755HD, Pace's digital cable box incorporating Mediacipher(R) conditional access technology, provides an additional choice for MSOs using Motorola's conditional access system.
Pace's set-top with TV Guide Interactive will make its debut at the National Cable & Telecommunications Association's (NCTA) National Show, May 2-5, 2004, New Orleans, LA in Pace's booth #3037. TV Guide Interactive will also be demonstrated in TV Guide's booth, #3047, where more information on TV Guide Channel, TV Guide magazine and TV Games Network will also be available.
The Pace DC755HD is one of the most advanced high-definition digital cable set-tops in its class and the first to successfully complete Motorola's MediaCipher Conditional Access Validation Testing. Developed with existing and future applications and services in mind, the Pace DC755HD supports VOD and other advanced applications.
TV Guide Interactive, available in more than 12 million homes, provides users with easy navigation to all the content and services available on digital cable, including VOD, HDTV, and DVR. Like other TV Guide-branded products, TV Guide Interactive makes it easier and more enjoyable for viewers to find out "what's on," and helps them quickly choose what to watch and how to watch it, among an expanding number of choices.
Mike Pulli, President Pace Americas commented: "Our Motorola-based set top solution is firmly established with our successful TV Guide integration. TV Guide Interactive is the leading program guide on Motorola systems and we're delighted to offer MSOs a new set-top choice."
"We are very excited about our work with Pace to provide new options for MSOs in delivering digital service to their customers," added Todd Walker, senior vice president, TV Guide Television Group.
