What: Silicom Ventures LLC is hosting an evening event for technology investors and VCs -- "How to be a Successful VC" -- featuring speaker, Vinod Khosla, founding CEO of Sun Microsystems and co-founder of Daisy Systems, and now a general partner of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and moderator, Tony Perkins, creator and editor-in-chief of Red Herring, and his new venture, AlwaysOn.
In addition, approximately 10 technology companies, ready for VC funding, have been selected to present their products in a booth-style presentation. A buffet dinner and networking will round out the evening.

Details: The evening's presentation will address: The principles of selecting companies, the role of the VC after the investment is made, when do you replace the CEO, what is the role of the VC in setting up direction and strategy, lessons learned -- best decisions and the worst mistakes, some examples from Khosla's portfolio companies, and his perspective on the future of the valley and venture investment.
