CMP Media LLC's CRN, Network Computing, VARBusiness and

Network Magazine Name Autonomic Software as

Network Applications Product Category Finalist

Autonomic Software's Autonomic Network & System Administration (ANSA) system was named a Finalist in the Network Applications Category of the Best of Interop Awards competition by CMP Media's CRN, Network Computing, VARBusiness and Network Magazine. The winners will be selected at NetWorld Interop 2004 Las Vegas, to be held May 11th, 2004.

ANSA represents a new class of vulnerability management system that combines automated patch and asset management with software distribution services to eliminate the devastating impact of unpatched software vulnerabilities. Designed with a "system-managing-systems" approach, ANSA is a cross-platform, agent-based suite of services specifically designed from the ground up with an N-tier architecture that can scale to support thousands of Windows, Linux, UNIX-variant and Macintosh OS X computers from a single ANSA Inoculation Server. As a result, the system provides a comprehensive solution for systematically discovering an organization's network, OS and application assets while proactively managing all of an enterprise's patch management requirements from a single console. The patent-pending system radically simplifies the complex process of identifying, verifying, pre-testing and installing essential OS and application patches.

The editors of CMP Media's CRN, Network Computing, VARBusiness and Network Magazine, four of CMP Media's premier information technology publications, review over 150 submissions, evaluating new products. Finalists were then selected in 10 categories. ANSA was named a Finalist in the Security Category. The Best of Interop Awards are designed to help IT and network managers shorten the evaluation process in assessing new technology products. By identifying innovative products debuted at NetWorld Interop, the Best of Interop Awards assist in the quest for creative solutions.

"The objectivity of four of the industry's premier technical publications lends considerable credibility to our selection as a Best of Show Finalist," said Tony Gigliotti, Founder and CEO of Autonomic Software. "We believe ANSA is going to enable Fortune 2000 companies to finally achieve success in quickly and cost-effectively deploying a coherent software vulnerability management strategy across the enterprise."

"When selecting finalists for the Best of Interop Awards, we're looking for products that stand out from the competition by providing a unique solution to a problem or one that blazes new territory in the networking arena," explained Ron Anderson, lab director for Network Computing and head of the joint editorial judging for the Best of Interop Awards.

Winners of the Best of Interop at NetWorld Interop 2004 Las Vegas will be selected at the show and announced at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
