SANTA ROSA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 2004
Grape Links Inc., producer of Barefoot Cellars wines, has appointed Republic Beverage and Block Distributing as their new state wide distributor. Effective April 30th, 2004, Barefoot Cellars will have full distribution of all their brands throughout Texas. The Barefoot Cellars portfolio includes Barefoot California, Barefoot Reserve Sonoma County, Barefoot on the Beach and Barefoot Bubbly 100% Chardonnay Champagne.
Barefoot Cellars has been producing wines of exceptional value since 1986. Their mission statement is, "To make the best wine for the best price." The cornerstone of the winery's business is its velocity-priced wines from California that retail under $7.00. These wines were awarded over 300 medals last year and received outstanding quality accolades from many of the biggest publications in the wine industry. (Wine Enthusiast named Barefoot Bubbly Brut 100% California Chardonnay Champagne as one of the top 100 value wines of the year.)
"Block Distributing is thrilled to represent a hot-selling, popular national brand like Barefoot Cellars wines," said Russell Motz, Vice President of Block Distributing.
Greg Bowdish of the Texas Wine Co. (the parent company of Block/Republic group) said, "Our entire sales staff is fired up and can't wait to hit the streets with this exciting portfolio."
"Texas Wine Company has an outstanding track record for building brands, market knowledge, and commitment to service. That makes this partnership a perfect fit for Barefoot wines in Texas," said Aaron Fein, Grape Links Inc. Director of Business Development.
Barefoot Cellars also produces a Sonoma County Reserve line of wines which retail under $20 that include: Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Alexander Valley Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, and "Impression" Meritage, as well as Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel.
Barefoot Cellars is making this transition as the company's sales are hitting record highs. Within the last 4 years, Barefoot Cellars has increased sales and production by an average of 20% per year in a challenged wine market, culminating in their most recent award of "Hot Brand" for 2004 by Impact Magazine.
Barefoot Cellars California, Barefoot Reserve Sonoma County, Barefoot on the Beach and Barefoot Bubbly 100% Chardonnay Champagnes will be available through Republic Beverage in Dallas and Houston metros.
