ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 2004

WHO:   Bremer Financial Corporation and its employees will sponsor
       Cinco de Mayo events as part of St. Paul's Cinco de Mayo
       celebration and parade.

WHAT:  In addition to sponsoring The Children's Area and participating
       in the Cinco de Mayo parade, Bremer will host a live bald eagle
       show during the afternoon for spectators.

WHY:   To show their support for the Hispanic community through
       celebration.

WHEN:  SATURDAY; May 8, 2004 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

WHERE: Distric del Sol, Concord Street, St. Paul;

Bremer employees will honor the Battle of Puebla, a key battle in 1862 resulting in a small Mexican militia defending their country's sovereignty. The victory at Puebla prevented the French army from marching into Mexico City and overthrowing the Mexican government. Today the date has been adopted as part of the holiday calendar as a celebration of unique Mexican customs, with festive food, beverages and music. In observance of this historic date, Bremer employees will celebrate on May 8 along with the city of St. Paul.

Bremer supports the Hispanic community by providing Spanish-speaking employees in four Metro locations and Spanish language print materials. Customers may use the Matricula Consular ID, an official identification issued by the Mexican Consulate, as a form of identification for opening an account, along with the Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN).
