MESA, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 7, 2004

New York City's public schools are currently facing a multitude of educational challenges, from high stakes tests to shifting academic standards and requirements, all with potentially life-changing consequences for educators, parents and students.

On Monday, May 10, Pearson Digital Learning's "eBus" will visit PS 145 in Brooklyn, giving visitors a chance to see how scientifically based technology can have a positive and long-lasting effect on students' academic future.

The "eBus" is a school bus turned mobile computer lab, outfitted with 13 computer workstations and Internet satellite connectivity. With a specific emphasis on standards-aligned, research-based curriculum, the "eBus" highlights programs that use technology to improve student performance. These programs include the Waterford Early Reading Program(TM) and Waterford Early Math and Science(TM) courseware for preK-2 students; KnowledgeBox(R) K-6 Digital Learning System, and SuccessMaker(R) Enterprise comprehensive courseware, in use at PS 145 and other schools throughout the region.

On the "eBus," public school administrators, educators from neighboring districts, and parents will have the chance to explore the software programs, which teach young students reading/language arts, math, science and social studies.
