American Jewish Committee's Atlanta Chapter Honors UPS with National Human Relations Award; Chairman and CEO Mike Eskew to Accept Prestigious Award

ATLANTA -- Mike Eskew, the chairman and CEO of UPS (NYSE:UPS), will accept the Atlanta chapter of the American Jewish Committee's prestigious National Human Relations Award on behalf of UPS at a cocktail reception and dinner on Nov. 16 at the InterContinental Buckhead Hotel.
"The American Jewish Committee's National Human Relations Award is presented to leaders whose professional accomplishments and community work reflect the mission of the AJC," said Elise Eplan, president of the organization's Atlanta chapter." More than 350 distinguished corporate and civic leaders will join the American Jewish Committee paying tribute. Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin is serving as Honorary Dinner Chairperson; Dinner Co-Chairpersons include Candy Berman of Candy Berman & Associates; Walter Driver, Jr. of King & Spalding LLP; David M. Ratcliffe of Southern Company, and Paula Rosput Reynolds of AGL Resources. Arthur M. Blank of The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation and the Atlanta Falcons will present the award.

Eskew began his UPS career in 1972 as an industrial engineering manager in Indiana and became chairman and CEO in January 2002. He serves as a trustee to The UPS Foundation and The Annie E. Casey Foundation, the country's largest foundation dedicated to disadvantaged youth. Eskew also serves as chairman of the U.S.-China Business Council and is a member of the President's Export Council and the Business Roundtable.
