NuMarkets Launches a New Program Called MoneyMakers, Teams with the U.S. Postal Service To Create the Last Mile of Internet Service
Business Wire, Nov 10, 2004
ETOWAH, Tenn. -- MoneyMakers connects 40,000 USPS locations and 700,000 postal workers with NuMarkets to take eBay selling services into every house and business across America
NuMarkets, the pioneer of eBay consignment selling and shipping centers for the public and businesses, announced today it has teamed with United States Postal Service connecting 40,000 USPS locations and 700,000 postal workers with NuMarkets to take eBay selling services into every house and business across America. The scope of the agreement will leverage USPS's infrastructure and geographical superior coverage to offer consumers and businesses a value priced solution to sell their items on eBay through NuMarkets selling services. Additionally, NuMarkets franchise-selling facilities are located in geographically smart logistics locations in TN, GA, AR and NC to maximize processing, shipping time and costs.
The process is simple: consumers and businesses call NuMarkets toll free centralized commerce support center at 1 888-NuMarkets (1-888 686-2753) and NuMarkets inputs all the information about the seller and items through its consignor intake systems. In the next day few days, USPS mailing labels and order confirmation arrive via the mail at the consigner's house or business. The consigner packs the item and the following day the postal carrier conveniently picks up at the house or business at no cost. The consigner's items are delivered to a NuMarkets Selling and Shipping center. Once the item arrives at NuMarkets, it is immediately processed through the franchise operation and is put up for sale through eBay. Seven days later the items sells and a check is mailed to the consigner's house or business. Usually the process takes about 15 business days from start to finish. The consigner does not pay for shipping to get their item to NuMarkets; they are only responsible for packing their item. The cost to the consumer and business is 38% of the final selling price with no other hidden eBay and credit card charges or complicated sliding scale cost escalations.
The U.S. Postal Service is working with NuMarkets to deliver eBay items to their service centers and mail checks from sold items to sellers once a sale is made. This Merchandise Return Service business, along with checks sent through the mail, will generate new revenue and facilitate a convenient service for eBay sellers - a potentially profitable partnership for both organizations.
"It's a new level of simplicity with just one phone call to NuMarkets, items in your home or idle assets in your business turn into cash via NuMarkets and eBay, delivering money you didn't know you had," said Russ Grove President & CEO of NuMarkets. Our franchise locations are growing and we are building significant capacity creating fast cycle and sell infrastructures, it is a natural fit with USPS to offer our extended services to the rest of the country delivering on-site (you carry into our NuMarkets locations) and off-site services (we pick up at you home or business via USPS and bring to a NuMarkets location). The core is of the service is our "Simple" software and business methods that allow us to network all our locations as if they were one, but leverage the different locations to deliver faster more cost effective services. We are very pleased to team with the USPS suddenly our neighborhood just expanded to every household and business in the country.
