Gluecode Delivers Open Source Platform for Intel Itanium 2 Processor-Based Servers; Gluecode JOE is the First Open Source Software Stack Optimized for Intel Itanium 2 Processors

LOS ANGELES -- Gluecode Software(TM), an open source application infrastructure company, today announced the availability of the first open source application platform optimized for the Intel(R) Itanium(R) 2 processor. Gluecode JOE(TM), also announced today, is an integrated, Java(TM)-certified platform built on proven technologies from the Apache Software Foundation. Consisting of the Apache Geronimo application server, Apache Agila business process management engine, Apache Pluto portlet container, and Apache Derby database management system, Gluecode JOE provides a low cost, production-ready framework for rapidly building and deploying applications.
The Intel Itanium 2 processor is designed to meet the increasing demands for high availability, scalability and performance required by business-critical applications. Gluecode JOE running on an Intel Itanium 2 processor-based server helps companies to rapidly deploy high performance applications with the potential for achieving a lower total cost of ownership than with proprietary technologies.
