Business Wire, Nov 15, 2004
NORCROSS, Ga. -- New Management Team Will Help PaperPlus Retail Stores Play a Key Role in the Company's Business Growth
Unisource Worldwide, Inc., one of the leading distributors of paper, packaging and facility supplies in North America, announced the appointment of three senior executives to oversee its PaperPlus division, which operates 44 retail locations in 16 states. PaperPlus stores offer coated and uncoated papers in cut sizes and sheets, business papers, specialty papers, and imaging and graphics supplies that can be purchased on a cash-and-carry or walk-in basis.
Glenn Shiroff, a former senior executive at Kinko's, is now vice president and general manager of PaperPlus. Shiroff's primary goal is to build a stronger national organization, better positioned to support existing PaperPlus store locations and grow the division. As part of his strategy to strengthen central leadership, Shiroff announced the following management appointments:
--Bruce Chronister will become Eastern U.S. regional operations manager, which includes all 22 PaperPlus stores east of the Mississippi River, plus St. Louis, MO. Chronister has worked at Unisource for more than 12 years, serving in the role of National Supervisor since 2001, where his responsibilities included deployment and training, customer support services and national vendor relations.
--David Lafe has joined PaperPlus as Western U.S. regional operations manager, which includes all of the 22 PaperPlus locations west of the Mississippi River, except St. Louis, MO. Lafe previously spent five years as district manager with Kelly Paper in the San Francisco Bay area. Prior to joining Kelly Papers, Lafe spent five years with Dixon Papers and xpedx in store operations management roles.
"These appointments bring strong operations, sales and service expertise to the core leadership of our PaperPlus division and will help the division grow its existing business as well as gain new customers," said Ed Farley, Unisource's vice president of strategic sourcing and marketing. "We expect Glenn, Bruce and David to be a force for change at PaperPlus, improving our sales and service personnel, and strengthening our product selection at competitive prices," said Farley.
