RoamAD and Siemens Ink Wi-Fi Deal; RoamAD and Siemens Have Partnered for the Distribution and Integration of Metropolitan Wi-Fi Networks and Campus Hotzones
Business Wire, Nov 16, 2004
AUCKLAND, New Zealand -- RoamAD, the supplier of world-leading metropolitan Wi-Fi networks and campus hotzone infrastructure, today announced that it has signed an agreement with Siemens for the distribution of its metropolitan Wi-Fi networks, campus hotzones, enterprise Wi-Fi solution, and hotspots.
The deal follows successful RoamAD deployments in New Zealand and an increase in orders for its metropolitan Wi-Fi networks and campus hotzone solutions internationally.
RoamAD and Siemens will work together to provide Wi-Fi networks and solutions to targeted network operators initially in New Zealand. RoamAD will provide Siemens with its hardware and software. Siemens in turn will market RoamAD's Wi-Fi solutions to its customers and then design, deploy and integrate the networks. Siemens and RoamAD have already worked together on a successful project to deploy a Wi-Fi solution in a stadium environment.
"The addition of RoamAD's metropolitan Wi-Fi network solution to our product suite enables us to provide cost-effective, scalable metropolitan Wi-Fi networks, campus hotzones and enterprise Wi-Fi networks to our customers in an efficient manner," said Phil Josephs, Business Development Manager, Siemens. "RoamAD's metropolitan Wi-Fi networks and campus hotzones can be deployed in weeks, rather than months. The new arrangement is a natural fit."
RoamAD's solution, with its low-latency and fast hand-off, specifically caters for mobile VoIP.
"We are thrilled to be able to leverage Siemens' experience and skills in addressing the needs of network operators and enterprise customers as well as its deployment and systems integration capabilities," said Craig Cameron, CEO, RoamAD. "This partnership provides us with the scale and expertise to grow our sales rapidly."
