Motricity's eReader.com Announces Bestselling eBooks for October; eReader.com Election Winners Announced, Offered at 20% off in November

DURHAM, N.C. -- Motricity, a leader in mobile content distribution solutions, today announced the top ten bestselling fiction and nonfiction eBooks for the month of October from its eReader.com division (formerly Palm Digital Media), the world's largest and most popular electronic bookstore.

Motricity also announced the results of the 2004 eReader.com Elections. The top titles, as voted by eReader.com customers, are all specially priced for November with discounts of 20% off eReader.com's everyday values. Among the 20 prize picks are: "The 9/11 Commission Report", "I, Robot", "Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Novels and Stories", "Bringing Down the House", and "Band of Brothers" --most of which are currently available for less than $10. Among the top 10 fiction titles, was the new release "Hour Game" and the recently reduced "Split Second" both by David Baldacci. Robin Cook's "Seizure" scored with customers, as did James Patterson's "The Big Bad Wolf", featuring favorite sleuth Alex Cross. Patterson's latest novel, "London Bridges", was available to eReader.com customers shortly after midnight on November 8th before its release at any brick and mortar bookstore.

For the month of November, dozens of terrific authors and hundreds of their top titles are specially priced at only $4.99. While the men ruled the fiction list in October, titles by top women authors are among the highlighted features this month including: "Kill the Messenger" by Tami Hoag, "Slightly Dangerous" by Mary Balogh, "Fatal Tide" by Iris Johansen, "Whisker of Evil" by Rita Mae Brown, "The Game" by Laurie R. King, "Fool's Fate" by Robin Hobb and "Can You Keep a Secret?" by Sophie Kinsella.

The top non-fiction seller at eReader.com in October was "The Templar Revelation" which explains the mysterious background of "The Da Vinci Code". Current events and politics figured strongly with Ann Coulter's "How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must)" and George Friedman's "America's Secret War."

PalmPilot and Treo smartphone creator, Jeff Hawkins, has another hit on his hands with "On Intelligence," his powerful theory of how the human brain really works, explaining why computers are not intelligent and how we can finally build intelligent machines.

Rounding out the top 10 non-fiction titles were George Carlin's irreverent latest, "When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops?"; and Walter Isaacson's "Benjamin Franklin: An American Life" which was also featured as one of the top 20 Reader's Choice titles.
