Fidelity Federal Bank & Trust Enhances Email Security and Deploys GlobalCerts Solution for Email Encryption and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act -GLBA- Compliance
Business Wire, Nov 16, 2004
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- GlobalCerts(TM), a leading provider of secure messaging appliance solutions, announced today that Fidelity Federal Bank & Trust, a West Palm Beach, FL-based Federal Savings and Loan, has deployed the GlobalCerts SecureMail Gateway(TM) to provide email encryption in its network.
Chartered in 1952 as West Palm Beach Federal Savings and Loan, Fidelity Federal Bank & Trust has become the seventh largest bank headquartered in Florida. Fidelity Federal is a subsidiary of Fidelity Bankshares, Inc. Through its subsidiary Fidelity Federal Bank & Trust, Fidelity Bankshares, Inc. has assets of $3.44 billion and deposits of $2.69 billion and operates in Florida through 43 branch offices in Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties.
Fidelity Federal sends thousands of emails a year. Many of these emails include non-public information (NPI). To protect its customers' privacy and to comply with GLBA, Fidelity Federal began looking for a secure messaging solution. "Strong security, ease of use and ease of deployment were critical factors in our decision to choose the GlobalCerts' solution," said M. Anita Mixon, Senior Vice President, IT Director for the bank. "The SecureMail Gateway completely met our requirements. Users continue to send emails as they always have; only now they are sent securely."
This deployment further exemplifies that the SecureMail Gateway (SMG) appliance is on its way to becoming the de facto standard for secure messaging within the financial industry. The SMG solution simplifies sending secure emails. Customers just want to send emails, and not acquire special technical skills to send messages. The SecureMessenger(TM) feature allows customers to communicate securely to anyone with a web browser. The SecureTier(TM) feature automates digital certificate management which significantly reduces administration and facilitates rapid secure messaging. No desktop software is required to install or manage.
