Navio Powers TVT's Digital Storefront for Direct-to-Consumer Marketing; Turnkey Solution Extends Record Company's Reach in the Digital Marketplace
Business Wire, Nov 16, 2004
CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Navio, the leading provider of rights-based commerce solutions, today announced that TVT Records -- the #1 independent record company in the United States -- has selected Navio to power a new digital store. The store will sell a variety of music and artist-related content including mastertone ringtones, polyphonic ringtones, mobile wallpaper, digital songs (in MP3 format) and digital albums direct to consumers. TVT Records will leverage Navio's turnkey digital storefront solution to develop a one-to-one relationship with consumers by also offering bundled packages of digital content and physical merchandise.
Navio's rights-based approach to digital-content marketing -- enabling the sale of digital content in any format on any distribution channel -- assists digital content providers in establishing closer relationships with consumers.
"We are very excited about the opportunities that Navio opens for us," said Steve Gottlieb, president and founder of TVT Records. "It is a great way for us to connect directly with our consumers and offer in one place both digital music and mobile ringtones. In addition, the site is built to reward consumers who virally promote our artists and content. I believe we're just scratching the surface of what we can deliver to fans with Navio."
To support both Web and mobile delivery of its wide range of content, the TVT Records storefront will be powered by Navio's core digital commerce solution, comprised of AV Publish(TM) and the Navio Active Viewer(TM). Navio enables TVT Records to simultaneously distribute multiple digital product formats, including mobile content, digital downloads, and more. Additionally, Navio's unique multi-format bundling capabilities makes it possible for promotional partners, wireless carriers, and retailers to offer TVT Records content packs of both Web and mobile content based on TVT's blockbuster properties. Customers can choose to make purchases using any of a number of payment options, including credit cards, and digital cash.
"TVT Records is one of the hottest and most forward-looking music companies in the industry and we are very excited about being able to help them bring their wide range of digital content to consumers," said Stefan Roever, chief executive officer of Navio. "By giving consumers the option to deliver content to a Web browser or mobile device, we will help TVT Records take advantage of the amazing marketing and sales opportunities available in the digital marketplace."
About Navio Digital Commerce Solutions
Navio's core product, AV Publish, offers a powerful "publish once, sell anywhere" value proposition to content providers, media companies, mobile carriers, ISPs, and portals. AV Publish makes it easy to catalog digital goods, and to package rights to them as product offers. The key to "rights-based commerce," these can be made available in any number of venues -- simultaneously - in a web storefront, on mobile devices, within online communities, in traditional media, or even physical retail locations. Thanks to this rights-based approach, multiple digital product types can easily be drawn together into a single, compelling consumer offering, including downloadable music, games, video, mobile content, and more. The files themselves are drawn from one or more content management systems that make up what is essentially a virtual fulfillment network ideal for multi-unit media enterprises. Navio's Active Viewer is a uniquely sticky, brandable Flash application that handles enrollment and purchasing, and also serves as a digital collection of the user's digital product rights, including product preview, delivery to the user's preferred device, and even authorized sharing between users to support viral marketing campaigns.
