Navio Powers TVT's Digital Storefront for Direct-to-Consumer Marketing; Turnkey Solution Extends Record Company's Reach in the Digital Marketplace
Business Wire, Nov 16, 2004
TVT's forward-thinking made it an early leader of the digital music revolution. In November 1999, the company was the first label to make its entire catalog available for digital download and also make its entire repertoire of music videos available for streaming, all from TVTrecords.com. TVT's initial strategic partnerships with Microsoft, Yahoo!, Real Networks and Napster put it at the forefront of the evolving music market online. The label was also the first independent to take a stand against digital music piracy. President and Founder Steve Gottlieb addressed the Senate Judiciary Committee at a hearing on digital music legislation alongside such industry luminaries as Ken Berry and Dick Parsons on April 3, 2001. Gottlieb's leadership and vision in the digital music explosion also resulted in his holding seats on the board of directors of MusicMatch and the advisory board of Napster.
