University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Selects Image Systems; UPMC Network Calibration and Display System to Be Demonstrated at RSNA Booth #8107
Business Wire, Nov 24, 2004
MINNEAPOLIS -- Image Systems' CFS (Calibration Feedback System) and LCD displays chosen for University of Pittsburgh Medical Center hospital and clinical network
Image Systems Corporation, a leader in PACS display solutions, announced today the initial installation of its CFS (Calibration Feedback System) and high-resolution LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) display systems at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), an integrated health care and finance system. Image System's solution is specifically designed to simplify the calibration and configuration of PACS imaging displays.
Dr. Chang, Director of UPMC's Radiology Informatics Department, stated, "We were impressed by Image Systems' ability to provide "hands free", automated display calibration that will result in consistent quality throughout our facility. Image Systems ability to monitor the luminance and grayscale integrity at the front of the display in addition to continuously monitoring the backlight performance gives us the highest level of DICOM compliance confidence."
The CFS solution provides a built-in scheduler that provides the ability, when used with Image Systems' LCD displays, to test and calibrate displays during off-hours without human intervention. This test information can be automatically archived into a central database providing a verifiable record of compliance testing. Image Systems' solution provides new operational efficiencies and cost savings to PACS operators.
Jeff Roberts, UPMC's PACS program manager, said "Image Systems' new CFS software will allow us to automate and centralize the entire calibration and data archival process over our entire hospital and clinic network. After extensive comparisons of solutions available in the industry, we concluded that Image Systems represents "Best in Class" performance and value."
"We are extremely pleased to be working with such a world renown medical facility and their highly acclaimed staff. Image Systems is proud to be a part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's PACS upgrade." said Dave Sorensen, President of Image Systems.
Image Systems has worked closely with Richardson Electronics, an approved Image Systems Distributor, to distribute its products and other value added services to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
