Business Wire, Nov 29, 2004
FAIRFAX, Va. -- Colleague ERP Solution Provides Self-Service Functionality and Integration Required by Community Colleges and Four-Year Institutions
Datatel, Inc. today announced that four higher education institutions have recently selected Datatel Colleague as their enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution: Alpena Community College in Alpena, MI; Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey, IL; California College of the Arts in San Francisco and Oakland, CA; and the University of West Alabama in Livingston, AL.
The institutions all selected Colleague to improve business functionality across their respective campus environments. California College of the Arts will replace its existing ERP system from another vendor, and Alpena Community College, the University of West Alabama, and Lewis & Clark Community College will upgrade from homegrown information management systems.
"Datatel was our choice because it is a proven technology leader, and the most experienced ERP provider within higher education," said Mike Mueller, CTO at Lewis & Clark Community College. "Colleague will help us achieve our institutional goals by dramatically improving day-to-day businesses processes. We also look forward to leveraging Colleague's functionality to provide greater ease-of-use and self-service capabilities."
"It was important for UWA to enhance our registration capabilities, and to achieve a higher level of systems integration between all offices," said Frank Whidden, director of Information Systems at the University of West Alabama. "After a careful evaluation, Colleague turned out to be the best fit for our institution. With Datatel's support, we expect to greatly improve student self-services, and achieve the flexibility we need to remain competitive."
Datatel Colleague is the most advanced and comprehensive information technology solution for higher education. Incorporating five key business areas - Student, Finance, Financial Aid, HR, and Institutional Advancement - Colleague provides the tools and capabilities colleges and universities need to meet their business objectives.
