GoAhead Software Announces Support for the Newly Released Service Availability Forum Application Interface Specification

Business Wire, Nov 30, 2004

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- GoAhead(R) Software, the leading provider of commercial off-the-shelf high availability (HA) software, today announced that it will deliver a product suite compliant with the newly released Application Interface Specification (AIS) B.01.01 version from the Service Availability Forum (www.saforum.org). The AIS defines an interface for highly available applications that allows developers to write application software that is portable across different vendors' implementations of high availability middleware.

The first version of GoAhead's AIS compliant suite will be available during the first half of 2005. GoAhead will continue to support and evolve its existing SelfReliant(R) suite that provides high availability, systems management and distributed messaging software for developers of highly reliable systems. SelfReliant is the first high availability middleware to support the Service Availability Forum Hardware Platform Interface (HPI) A& B specifications. The AIS-compliant suite will be developed and provided as a separate product from SelfReliant and it will also support the SA Forum HPI A & B specifications.

"GoAhead is committed to leading the industry in providing standards-based, interoperable, highly available software modules that are required to build carrier-grade application-ready platforms," said Jim Ewel, CEO of GoAhead Software. "With AIS-compliant products and SelfReliant, we are in a unique position to offer our customers alternatives best suited to their project needs. We will continue to support and offer enhancements to our field-tested and proven SelfReliant suite to our current and future customers, while offering alternatives to those who would like to migrate to - or start new projects with - AIS-compliant product suite."
