Vault Releases New Employee Surveys On MCI
Business Wire, Nov 5, 2004
NEW YORK -- New York research firm Vault has just published new employee surveys on communications giant MCI (NASDAQ NM: MCIP) that yesterday reported third quarter 2004 results - providing "insider" information on corporate culture, compensation and hiring practices at the company.

Vault's employee surveys are designed to give investors and jobseekers insight into MCI - and for job seekers, the edge in this tough recruiting climate.
Among the aspects of the company highlighted by the surveys is MCI employees' changing morale.
Says a senior government markets account manager, "Working at MCI has been an adventure the past seven years. The corporate culture has changed as the result of a hostile takeover, redirection in corporate focus, mismanagement, bankruptcy, new management and refocus and finally emergence from bankruptcy. Long time, devoted employees found themselves desperate and destitute. Those still employed felt insecure and restless. Recently new management has breathed integrity and customer focus back into MCI's corporate culture. What a difference corporate leadership can make!"
But as for job security at MCI, a DSL expert team leader still writes that "Everyone in our center, from me who has worked there for 11 months to my manager who has invested 15 years of her life to the company, will be out of work next month. Many of those being laid off are upper management with degrees and tons of work experience..."
