Business Wire, Nov 8, 2004
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Citrix Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS), the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, today announced that it has further strengthened its strategic alliance with SAP AG by extending its SAP(R) Global Technology partnership to include membership in the SAP NetWeaver(TM) Partner Initiative. Implementing SAP solutions with Citrix access infrastructure enables customers to deploy applications faster, increase employee and IT productivity, and reduce the costs of running and maintaining the IT environment. This frees up personnel and capital resources for reinvestment in strategic growth projects. As part of this initiative, Citrix is announcing the availability of iView for Integrating Applications through Citrix, which offers customers seamless access to Web-based and non Web-based applications through SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0.
The SAP NetWeaver Partner Initiative is an extension of the SAP Software Partner program. Citrix and SAP have bolstered their membership in each other's partner program with a successful business relationship that includes the production use of each other's enterprise business solutions. Participation in the SAP NetWeaver Partner Initiative offers significant opportunities as a fundamental component of SAP's strategic partner relationships and is a critical ingredient for successful delivery of Enterprise Services Architecture. Incentives include:
--Improved opportunities for collaboration, resource leverage and go-to-market activities with SAP organizations focused on the SAP NetWeaver platform
--Expanded marketing initiatives
--Access to information and services through the SAP Developer Network (http://www.sdn.sap.com)
"Citrix and SAP have worked together for over six years, enabling SAP customers to extend the reach of SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 to include any available application resource, regardless of where it originates," said David Jones, senior vice president, corporate development for Citrix Systems. "In SAP NetWeaver, Citrix and SAP are continuing to work on joint development efforts for future releases, which will further build on existing business benefits."
In order to integrate the SAP Enterprise Portal with Citrix(R) MetaFrame(R) Presentation Server, Citrix is releasing iView for Integrating Applications through Citrix for SAP Enterprise Portal, which greatly simplifies application access and deployments. Customers can integrate both Web-enabled and non Web-enabled applications through the portal without time-consuming and costly applications modifications. iView for Integrating Applications through Citrix is currently available as a free download from the Citrix Developer Network at http://www.citrix.com/cdn.
