InfoWorld Gives Top Honors to CrownPeak Technology in Comprehensive Content Management Cover Story
Business Wire, Nov 8, 2004
MARINA DEL REY, Calif. -- CrownPeak CMS Rated 'Excellent' In Overview of On-Demand Offerings in the Category
CrownPeak Technology (www.crownpeak.com), the software service leader in content management, today accepted kudos from InfoWorld, a publication widely respected for its in-depth coverage and evaluation of IT products for technology professionals. InfoWorld's October 22 cover story on content management products confirmed CrownPeak's position as segment leader while laying to rest any question about the effectiveness of on-demand delivery of content management solutions.
"CrownPeak's CMS is a complete CM system that's both extremely powerful yet won't confound business users," the publication noted in its review of content management systems. "The system's three main advantages put it in the top spot." The evaluation praises CrownPeak for its connectivity to other systems, its flexible user interface, and for its ability to take normally time-intensive tasks and reduce them to a matter of minutes.
"We are gratified by this recognition from one of the industry's most respected product information sources," said Jim Howard, CEO, CrownPeak. "InfoWorld confirms what our customers have been telling us for some time now. Hosted content management solutions simply make sense -- on a feature basis, they're every bit as capable as enterprise content management packages, if not more so. They're quicker and far less expensive to deploy, and virtually risk-free, which means that there are literally no trade-offs or sacrifices to make in going the hosted, on-demand route."
InfoWorld observed that past concerns regarding the hosted model are now moot, citing data from market researcher IDC that predicts on-demand application services will grow from $425 million in 2002 to $2.6 billion by 2007. The publication acknowledges what a number of corporate users have learned the hard way -- that installed content management software is too costly and complex to implement and manage, even for large organizations.
"CrownPeak's CMS packs as much power as you'd likely need for handling a spectrum of corporate sites," InfoWorld stated. "Even early in testing, (we) had little question CrownPeak's CMS is an enterprise-level product. Enterprises requiring functional depth and publishing flexibility in a hosted Web CM system won't be disappointed by CrownPeak's CMS."
