Timothy M. O'Connor Named Vice President of Marketing - Packaging and Facility Supplies for Unisource Worldwide, Inc

NORCROSS, Ga. -- Unisource Worldwide, Inc., one of the leading distributors of paper, packaging and facility supplies in North America, today announced the appointment of Timothy M. O'Connor as vice president of marketing for Packaging and Facility Supplies. He will be responsible for the overall marketing functions for these two key strategic business units of Unisource, and will report to Tom Pitera, president -- Packaging and Facility Supplies.
"Tim will strengthen our packaging and facility supplies businesses by bringing years of proven leadership in sales and marketing to our team," said Pitera. "We are confident his background and experience will allow him to make an immediate and significant contribution to Unisource as we launch new initiatives designed to grow our business by improving strategic relationships with our customer base."

O'Connor has more than 20 years of marketing and general management experience, including strategic, business-to-business, product, direct and dealer marketing; product management, customer service, and business development. Prior to joining Unisource, he most recently served as director of Electrical Apparatus Marketing at Siemens Energy and Automation, Inc. He was also a vice president of marketing, and vice president of business development at Siemens AG in Europe, and held several senior executive positions at Siemens Building Technologies. Earlier in his career he was in the sales and marketing area at Honeywell Incorporated.
O'Connor earned a master's degree in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Chicago, IL; and a bachelor's degree in communications at LaSalle University, Philadelphia, PA. He also graduated from the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering Officer School, Fort Belvoir, VA.
He is currently president of the Kellogg School of Management Alumni Association - Atlanta Chapter; and a visiting lecturer in marketing and sales, Coles College of Business, Kennesaw State University. O'Connor is a former Captain in the United States Army Reserve, Corps of Engineers.
