Oasis Semiconductor Named Second Fastest-Growing Technology Company in Deloitte New England Technology Fast 50
Business Wire, Oct 1, 2004
WALTHAM, Mass. -- Oasis Semiconductor, Inc., a leading supplier of semiconductor-based solutions to the All-In-One (AIO) peripheral market, announced today that it was named New England's second fastest-growing technology company at the New England Technology Fast 50 Program reception this week. Oasis had revenue growth of 17,879% during the five-year period ended December 31, 2003.
The eighth annual New England Technology Fast 50 Program, sponsored by Deloitte & Touche and Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, ranks the 50 fastest growing private and public technology companies in the region by percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues over five years, 1999 to 2003.
"We are pleased to receive this recognition for our rapid growth, and also want to congratulate the winner, Apogee Technology, and all the other illustrious companies that comprised the Fast 50 list." said John Koger, president and CEO of Oasis. "We have come a long way in the years since four of us launched the company while huddled over a dark table in a local restaurant."
Koger continued, "We founded Oasis with the promise of providing cutting-edge products to our customers/partners, and through the diligent and dedicated efforts of all Oasis employees, we have delivered millions of chips into AIO products worldwide."
Steve DiPietro, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP's partner in charge of the New England Fast 50 program and a partner in the firm's Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice, said, "We congratulate Oasis and all of these companies for their tireless drive towards excellence and for creating jobs, opportunity and growth in the region. They not only serve as a bellwether for our regional economy, but are also transforming the way we do business both here in New England and around the world."
To be considered, New England Technology Fast 50 entrants must have met the following criteria: revenues of at least $50,000 in 1999 and at least $1,000,000 in 2003; be public or private companies, headquartered in either Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont; subsidiaries and divisions are not eligible, unless they have some public ownership and are separately traded; and be a "technology company" defined as owning proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues (using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify) and/or devoting a significant proportion of revenues to research and development of technology.
