Business Wire, Oct 11, 2004
LOVELAND, Colo. -- The director of Penton Media's (OTCBB:PTON) Windows IT Pro Custom Media Group, Don Knox, announced today the IT Security Solutions Roadshow, brought to IT professionals by McAfee(R), Inc. and Microsoft, will be presented in ten cities across the United States and in Canada, beginning October 25 in Toronto.
"Viruses and security intrusions are always a threat to businesses," said Knox. "These free, half-day events will provide enterprise professionals with the hands-on experience they need to keep their organizations secure."
Produced by Windows IT Pro, the IT Security Solutions Roadshow is a traveling showcase highlighting how McAfee, Microsoft and their security partners are taking action against the growing wave of attacks. Training partner New Horizons Computer Learning Centers will be managing a hands-on lab for attendees at the events. The labs were developed by Microsoft.
Topics to be addressed include protection for medium to large enterprises, with a presentation of the latest prevention technologies and strategies; how to implement an effective outbreak control plan; and how to identify, contain and remedy the effects of malicious software. The New Horizons Computer Learning Centers lab will show how ISA Server 2004 implements firewall security, application-layer filtering, monitoring and reporting to enhance the security infrastructure for an organization.
"McAfee is pleased to join Microsoft as a sponsor of the IT Security Solutions Roadshow for the second year in a row," said Robin Matlock, senior vice president of field marketing at McAfee, Inc. "At the event, McAfee will discuss the important topic of intrusion prevention and will teach security professionals about the latest prevention technologies and strategies to help stop the evolving threats that impact systems and networks today. Attendees will learn how to implement a step-by-step action plan to secure their Microsoft environments with anti-virus and intrusion prevention strategies for proactive protection from these malicious code threats."
"McAfee and Microsoft are staying ahead of the tremendous growth in malicious software, and the rapid propagation and invasion of worms and viruses. This Roadshow is designed to enable IT professionals to take security to the next level by demonstrating how to implement a step-by-step action plan to secure business networks with antivirus and intrusion prevention strategies," Knox said.
