Actuate Achieves ''Powered by SAP NetWeaver'' Certification; Deeper Technology Alignment Lowers Total Cost of Ownership for Customer Base
Business Wire, Oct 12, 2004
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Actuate Corporation (Nasdaq:ACTU), the world leader in Enterprise Reporting Applications and a vendor with SAP certified integrations, today announced deepened support for the SAP NetWeaver(TM) platform. Actuate's Enterprise Reporting Application Platform has attained "Powered by SAP NetWeaver" certification, signifying a strengthened commitment to the company's support of SAP(R) solutions.
The certifications will result in several benefits for customers of SAP and Actuate, which will include:
--Seamless integration between Actuate's Enterprise Reporting Application Platform and SAP Enterprise Portal. Organizations will be able to "plug-in" powerful reporting capabilities to their SAP Enterprise Portal applications and interfaces via certified iView software. They will be able to easily create powerful information dashboards that are delivered to users within the secure and personalized SAP Enterprise Portal-based environment. This results in rapid and simplified deployment of rich reporting and analytics that provide unique capabilities to meet the needs of every type of information consumer.
--Cost reduction by running Actuate Active Portal within the SAP Web Application Server, rather than in a separate environment.
--Improved business performance by delivering operational information to 100% of the enterprise through a common, standard platform presented in the SAP Enterprise Portal and powered by Actuate's Enterprise Reporting Application Platform.
Actuate achieved this certification by demonstrating seamless integration of key product components to the SAP NetWeaver technology stack. The integration demonstrated for certification included:
--Deployment of the J2EE version of Actuate Active Portal within SAP Web Application Server 6.40.
--Development of the Business Package for Web Reporting for SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0, including customizable iView software that integrates Actuate web reporting and analytic content.
--Single-sign-on authentication integration between SAP Enterprise Portal and the Actuate iServer, including support for SAP log-on ticket security and user mapping security.
"Actuate's Enterprise Reporting Application Platform, which has received Powered by SAP NetWeaver integration certification, reduces the total cost of ownership across the technology stack and allow 100% of users to adopt the rich information available in the SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW)," said Nobby Akiha, vice president, Marketing at Actuate Corporation. "Actuate continues to grow our commitment to our customer base, enabling them to gain value from targeted Enterprise Reporting Applications built to scale on SAP solutions."
