USA Datanet Selects Intrado VoIP 9-1-1 Emergency Calling Service for Broadband Telephony Deployment; Intrado Extends its Lead in VoIP 9-1-1 Market
Business Wire, Oct 12, 2004
LONGMONT, Colo. -- Intrado Inc.(R)(Nasdaq:TRDO), North America's leading provider of 9-1-1 infrastructure systems and services and experts in dynamic communications solutions, today announced that USA Datanet is the latest Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) provider to deploy Intrado VoIP Emergency Calling Service (ECS) for its broadband telephony customers nationwide. USA Datanet, a provider of long distance voice and Internet access and IP network services to 480,000 residential and commercial customers, joins leading Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers and consumer and wholesale VoIP providers in choosing Intrado for VoIP 9-1-1 solutions.
"Immediate access to basic emergency services is an absolute requirement for our VoIP subscribers," said David Montanaro, president and CEO of USA Datanet. "Intrado provides our customers with this critical component right from the start. Equally important, however, is the cooperation this relationship brings to the development of Intrado's upcoming V9-1-1(SM) Mobility Service, which will offer innovative features to support VoIP's full range of enhanced services that our subscribers require, such as mobility and real-time location information."
Intrado continues to lead the VoIP 9-1-1 industry with the introduction of its V9-1-1(SM) Mobility Service. In addition to supporting E9-1-1 service for static VoIP users, V9-1-1 Mobility Service will also enable the appropriate 9-1-1 dispatcher to receive, on a dedicated 9-1-1 line, a caller's valid street address and callback number for mobile users and users with foreign telephone numbers.
"Consumers will continue to adopt emerging technologies like VoIP that must be supported by the existing 9-1-1 system," said Stephen Meer, Intrado chief technology officer. "Because of our ability to effectively integrate new technology, Intrado has extended its lead in the VoIP 9-1-1 market."
