Engage PR Wins PRSA ``Best in Show'' Honor; Best Editorial/Op-Ed Column of the Year Award Showcases Agency's Creativity
Business Wire, Oct 13, 2004
ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Engage PR today announced that it has won the "Best in Show" award for editorial/op-ed columns at the 2004 Northern California Public Relations Society of America's (PRSA) Compass Awards competition. The Northern California PRSA honored Engage PR for establishing its client, Airespace, Inc., as the "Wireless Wizards" in a Network World Q&A column. The column helped Airespace showcase the wireless expertise of its management team and differentiate the company in the crowded Wireless LAN (WLAN) market.
Engage PR pitched the three technical founders of Airespace to be featured as the "Wireless Wizards" in Network World, a tier-one publication that is highly respected in the tech industry. The column quickly became one of the publication's hottest columns, with more than 1,200 readers per week signing onto the Web site to read it. Network World is read by both network IT managers who make purchasing decisions as well as by industry pundits, two prime audiences Airespace wished to influence. The Airespace team exclusively produced the "Wireless Wizard" column for nine months.
"Engage PR was able to leverage its relationships with Network World's editorial staff to help us rise above the noise of a very competitive market," said Alan Cohen, VP of marketing and product management at Airespace. "The column significantly raised our visibility with our direct sales audience and industry influencers and reinforced our position as an industry leader."
