Nation's Top Women Business Leaders Convene in Boston to Discuss the Personal, Intellectual, Psychological and Community Ramifications of Economic Power
Business Wire, Oct 13, 2004
BOSTON -- The Committee of 200 Annual Conference of Women Business Leaders to Focus on "Making Connections" Between Economic and Personal Power
Leading women entrepreneurs and corporate officers will examine the multiple levels of connections between economic and personal power, and their impact on communities and society at large, at the 22nd Annual Conference of The Committee of 200 (C200). The conference will begin today and run through Sunday, October 17, at The Four Seasons Hotel here.
More than 150 influential women in business are expected to participate in the conference, "Making Connections," which will feature workshops, roundtables and insights of leading thinkers on business, science and contemporary society.
C200 is a national organization of leading businesswomen that focuses understanding and enhancing the pipeline of future women business leaders. C200 membership requires that women either be entrepreneurs with annual revenues of over $15 million, or run companies or a division with at least $250 million in annual revenues. The membership controls over $100 billion in corporate revenues.
"It's become commonplace to observe that the world's economies, cultures and societies are becoming increasingly intertwined. But the questions and opportunities that globalization raise make this an optimal time to examine how the balance of economic power impacts the global community. Business people rarely have the time and opportunity to step back and review the ramification of success and power. We believe this conference provides this opportunity," said C200 Conference Co-Chair Carolee Friedlander, Founder of Carolee Designs, Inc.
The other C200 Conference Co-Chairs are Sharon P. Whiteley, President and CEO of Boston-based ThirdAge, Inc., and Lois Silverman, Chair and Founder of The Commonwealth Institute in Boston.
