Revivio Founder and Cto, Michael Rowan, Named to Boston Business Journal's List of 40 under 40; List Represents Best and Brightest of Greater Boston's Businesspeople Under 40 Years Old
Business Wire, Oct 14, 2004
LEXINGTON, Mass. -- Revivio(R), Inc., the leader in continuous data protection, today announced that its founder and chief technology officer, Michael Rowan, has been named to the Boston Business Journal's list of "40 Under 40" which is a listing of the best and brightest of Greater Boston's businesspeople under 40 years old. The announcement was made on Friday, October 8th, in a special pullout section of the business weekly.
The selections were made by a team of editors that assessed each nominee's influence on industry and local business. Also important in the selection process were contributions to the civic health of Greater Boston through volunteer work and other forms of philanthropy.
"Since 1998, the '40 Under 40' supplement has recognized 40 of Boston's brightest business and public personalities under 40 years old," said George Donnelly, editor of the Boston Business Journal. "All of this year's honorees were once again examples of young executives showing impressive professional and personal accomplishments and exemplary civic involvement."
"To be included in this listing is indeed an honor. I admire my colleagues on this list for their leadership in placing Boston at the forefront of industry and innovation," said Rowan. "To be chosen for inclusion by the well-informed and knowledgeable editors at the Boston Business Journal, multiplies this honor exponentially."
Although not yet 40 years old, Michael Rowan has conceived of and founded an impressive stable of the technology industry's true "success stories." The most recent example is Revivio, Inc. which Rowan founded in 2001 to develop next generation data restoration and protection solutions. The technology Revivio has developed is allowing companies to restore information in the event of a data loss, corruption or disaster in just seconds, versus the hours, days or even weeks users face with competing technologies. For many companies, this is truly the difference between staying in or going out of business. In fact, industry experts report that Revivio is essentially shifting the paradigm of how the world's leading corporations think about protecting the lifeblood of their company - its applications and information. It is also impressive to note, that in an economy where funding has become tighter than ever, Rowan has raised over $30 million in venture capital from top tier firms.
In a press release distributed by Revivio last week, it was announced that Rowan was also named a winner of the New England Business and Technology Award.
