Serena Joins Mainframe Migration Alliance; Support for Customers Migrating Applications From the Mainframe onto Microsoft Windows Platform

ORLANDO, Fla. -- SERENA Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:SRNA), the largest company solely focused on managing change throughout the application lifecycle, today announced it has joined the Mainframe Migration Alliance (MMA), an organization created by Microsoft and industry partners to help customers more easily and efficiently migrate workloads off the mainframe and onto the Microsoft Windows platform.

Formed in spring 2003 and expanded last month with additional members and a newly launched community Web site, the Mainframe Migration Alliance is comprised of software vendors and service providers focused on enabling mainframe customers to meet the challenges posed by legacy application environments, including the pressures to reduce IT costs and increase the flexibility in IT systems. In addition to Serena, current alliance members include Fujitsu Software Corp., EDS, Fujitsu Consulting, Micro Focus, and Microsoft, among others.

MMA services include co-marketing, sales and support to partners and customers and a Web site that provides a central point for migration-related case studies, reference materials, performance analysis, services and resources, and discussion groups.
