In other news, Viewpoint Corporation announced today that more than five million Viewpoint Toolbars have now been installed by U.S. consumers on their home and business computers.
"This is the milestone we've looked forward to," says Jay Amato, Viewpoint's CEO and president. "As we've said previously, this accomplishment is an essential step to bringing the company to break-even and profitability."
During the Company's quarterly earnings call in August, Viewpoint set a target of reaching five million installed toolbars by the end of Q4 2004.
"We're gratified our new search program has performed well for the company after only seven months of operation," adds Mr. Amato. "We look forward to building on this success in the near term."
Both net revenue per installed toolbar and acceptance rates for the toolbar remain essentially consistent at previously announced levels and the Company expects rates during the peak holiday search and shopping season to remain at least at current levels.
"Be mindful that toolbar downloads and performance may vary over time due to numerous factors," says Mr. Amato. "But we expect to see continuing growth."
Toolbar downloads and performance, as well as performance in the Company's other business lines, will be the topics discussed during Viewpoint's Q3 2004 quarterly earnings conference call on November 10.
