MTV Networks' Judy McGrath Joins Industry Insider Lineup at the 2005 International CES; MTV's McGrath Adds Magnetic Content from a Dominant Global Brand
Business Wire, Oct 18, 2004
SAN FRANCISCO -- Judy McGrath, chairman and CEO, MTV Networks will deliver an Industry Insider address at the upcoming 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on Thursday, January 6, at 2:30 p.m. in room N250 of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The International CES, the world's largest annual technology tradeshow, runs January 6-9, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nev.
"As a worldwide leader in entertainment television, reaching more than 400 million viewers in 164 countries, MTV Networks brings a vibrant global brand and culture to the International CES," said Karen Chupka, vice president of events and conferences at the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the producer of CES. "Judy McGrath's participation is a perfect complement to the growing presence of content and cable providers at CES and we look forward to hearing her dynamic vision."
An MTV veteran from the network's first days, McGrath has more than 20 years of experience in the cable television industry. She took over her current role as chairman and CEO of MTV Networks in July 2004 and is currently responsible for the overall direction of MTV, MTV2, VH1, CMT, Comedy Central and the recently announced LOGO, set to launch in 2005. She also oversees Nickelodeon, Nick at Night, Spike TV, TV Land, Noggin, The N, MTV Networks Digital Suite, MTV Networks International and all of the company's related films, consumer products and digital businesses.
Under her direction, MTV has grown from a fledgling music channel into MTV Networks, an industry-leading global brand with an unmatched portfolio of cable networks. From the beginning, Judy helped MTV bring the creativity of music, with its passion, originality and energy, to television. She also has grown MTV2 to the foremost all-music network, reinvented the VH1, Comedy Central and CMT brands, and created LOGO, the first advertising-supported network targeted at the lesbian and gay communities.
Prior to joining MTV Networks' predecessor, Warner Amex Satellite Entertainment Company, in 1981 as a copywriter, McGrath served as a copy chief at Glamour magazine and a senior writer at Mademoiselle.
McGrath joins Mike Ramsay, co-founder, chairman and CEO of TiVo Inc., as confirmed Industry Insiders for the 2005 International CES. Ramsay's address will take place on Friday, January 7, at 10:30 a.m. in room N250.

Journalists are encouraged to arrive in Las Vegas by Tuesday, January 4, 2005 to take advantage of all the CES press conferences and events.
