Business Wire, Oct 19, 2004
OTTAWA -- Pronexus Inc., a leading provider of computer telephony and speech software solutions, will demonstrate how to create speech applications for the Microsoft Speech Server 2004 (MSS 2004) using Visual Basic .NET. Part of the Microsoft MSDN webcast series, the Pronexus webinar "Creating and Deploying Speech Server Applications with Visual Basic .NET" will be held on November 17th, 2004 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM PST.
Using a practical example, the webcast will guide developers through the actual process of designing a speech application using Microsoft Speech Server and VBSALT, Pronexus' rapid application development tool for the MSS platform. Throughout the webcast, developers will learn about important aspects and concepts of successful speech application design such as call flow development, grammar creation, error handling and prompt escalation. Common deployment issues will also be addressed.
"With its ease of integration, Microsoft Speech Server presents a huge opportunity for organizations committed to the .NET framework to add speech IVR applications to their existing infrastructure," commented Gary T. Hannah, President & CEO of Pronexus Inc. "As a Microsoft Speech Partner since Day One, we are pleased to help familiarize .NET developers with these opportunities, and to educate them in the actual process of successful speech application design."
The presentation will be led by two Pronexus speech experts: Ian Rae, senior software engineer in the Speech Server division at Pronexus, and Mark McAulay, the company's director of Product Management and Support.
Ian Rae is the lead architect of the VBSALT rapid application development toolkit for MSS 2004. Ian has over twenty years of software development experience. Prior to Pronexus, he has held positions with Nortel Networks and Corel Corporation.
As Director of Product Management & Support, Mark is intimately familiar with developer requirements for computer telephony and speech applications. He has over eight years of software development and support experience and his previous positions include network management and pre-sales customer care.
