Netopia Announces CFO Resignation; New Interim CFO Appointed

EMERYVILLE, Calif. -- Netopia, Inc. (Pink Sheets:NTPA), a market leader in broadband gateways and service delivery software, announced the resignation of William D. Baker, Senior Vice President, Finance and Operations, Chief Financial Officer effective October 29, 2004. Netopia appointed Mark H. Perry as the company's Interim Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective October 21, 2004. Mr. Baker will assist the Company and Mr. Perry with the transition in a consulting capacity.
Mr. Perry served as Senior Vice President and Controller for URS Corporation in San Francisco from December 2001 through February 2004. Prior to URS, Mr. Perry served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Covad and spent 11 years at US West including four years as Vice President of Finance and Administration.
