Imprivata Taps Identity Management Expert for Advisory Board; OpenNetwork Founder, Kurt Long, to Help Shape Future of Enterprise Single Sign-On
Business Wire, Oct 27, 2004
LEXINGTON, Mass. -- Imprivata, Inc., the ESSO appliance company, today announced the appointment of Kurt Long to its Board of Advisors. As founder and former president and CEO of OpenNetwork Technologies (Clearwater, Fla.), Mr. Long brings over 15 years of executive insight into identity management to Imprivata's board of industry thought leaders. Imprivata's Board of Advisors already comprises some of the industry's most well-known visionaries from major IT and security organizations including Phil Becker, editor at Digital ID World, Andre Durand, president and CEO at Ping Identity Group, Ted Julian, vice president of marketing at Application Security, Inc. and George Kassabgi, former general manager of Application Security Infrastructure at BEA Systems and currently at Atlas Ventures.
Kurt Long is widely recognized as an identity management industry expert, having managed numerous key initiatives as founder, president and CEO of OpenNetwork Technologies, a leading provider of Web access and identity management solutions. At OpenNetwork, Mr. Long was responsible for driving the company's long-term product and go-to-market strategy, tripling growth from $3 million in 1999 to $10 million by 2001. Before founding OpenNetwork, he held executive and management roles at IBM, including product manager for IBM's DataTrade. At the outset of his career, Mr. Long served as mission manager for the Space Shuttle Real Time Launch Databank at Kennedy Space Center where he oversaw over 15 missions including the Hubble Space Telescope, Galileo and Ulysses.
"Kurt brings a deep expertise in enterprise IT security, and we are extremely excited to have such an accomplished individual play a pivotal role on our Advisory Board," said Patrick Morley, president and CEO, Imprivata. "Our ability to attract such well-regarded industry leaders is a testament to the success we are experiencing in the ESSO market. This group of industry authorities has already provided invaluable guidance, validating Imprivata's product plans and strategic direction."
Mr. Long's appointment to Imprivata's Board of Advisors comes as Imprivata continues to experience marked success in the ESSO marketplace with the industry's only ESSO appliance - designed to provide an easy, intelligent and affordable solution for IT organizations that need to quickly and effectively solve password management and user access issues. Imprivata OneSign has received overwhelming support for its ability to provide a simplified approach to managing multiple passwords in a way that is truly "out of the box," convenient and secure.
"Businesses of all sizes have been looking for an ESSO solution that is easy to deploy, extend and manage. Imprivata addresses this need with a well architected solution and great product technology," said Long. "I am delighted to join Imprivata's Board of Advisors and I look forward to working with its world-class management team that has the proven ability to execute and deliver customer value on an on-going basis."
