Passlogix Supports Initiative for Open Authentication; Endorses the Creation of Strong Authentication Standards to Address Customer Interest
Business Wire, Oct 28, 2004
NEW YORK -- Passlogix(R), the market-leader in enterprise single sign-on (ESSO) technology, today announced its support for the Initiative for Open AuTHentication, (OATH), an industry wide collaboration of leading device, platform and application companies. The charter of OATH is to create universal strong authentication across all users and all devices over all networks. Using open standards, OATH will offer enterprise customers more choices and lower cost of ownership, and allow customers to replace existing disparate and proprietary security systems.
"Open standards like those proposed by OATH will help solve enterprise security challenges by providing customers new, cost-effective options for strong authentication. We built the v-GO Platform to enable customers to implement our leading single sign-on solution along with best-of-breed strong authentication and user provisioning into a seamless enterprise identity management solution," said Marc Boroditsky, president and CEO of Passlogix. "The OATH initiative will allow us to help advance the entire industry toward universal strong authentication, and give enterprise single sign-on customers the means to more easily adopt strong authentication technologies."
The v-GO Platform establishes a clear path for enterprise customers to strengthen user identities by improving authentication with single sign-on, leveraging their identity management infrastructure and providing the means to adopt strong authentication technologies, like biometrics and smart cards. The v-GO Platform is designed to integrate easily with existing infrastructure and allow customers the flexibility to leverage their investment in identity-based technologies.
Earlier this week, the formal structure and charter of the OATH initiative was made public during the Digital ID World Conference in Denver, Colorado.
